The only place I use ’em is outside, because then I don’t have to get the ladder out as often to climb up and change the bulbs. I’m sticking with incandescent inside. Home Depot still carries them, as do many other places.

I’ve had those darn bulbs flicker on both dimmer and non-dimmer switches. It makes no sense. I think the lightbulb people are just messing with us – all the way to the bank! 😉

Funny you bring up the new bulbs. I replaced a coach light bulb by my garage door with an LED bulb and it started flashing a few weeks later and I thought I needed a new coach light. On a whim I replaced it with an incandescent bulb and it works just fine so it was the bulb. Ugh! BTW, I live in FL and we just had our first cold snap, a whopping 48 degrees ( for one night.)

Can I just add my “amen” to what Lynn said in the comment above mine? I agree with everything she said about light bulb shopping. It makes me feel old!

I feel the same way about the new light bulbs. 23 and 46 and 13 watts or whatever….?? What does it equal in the watts from before?? I want the boxes for the new bulbs to have a conversion table. It drives me nuts, so I avoid light bulb shopping. By the way, I look forward to your 5 + 1 every Friday.

I think the flickering bulbs happen when you use a non-dimmable bulb on a dimmer switch. At least that’s why ours does it…..and I’m too lazy to try to fix it. Mostly because the fixture takes 5 bulbs, the bulbs are expensive, and I want the color/brightness to match! I am soooooo with you on missing the simplicity of incadescents!

I JUST finished Where the Crawdads Sing! My book club had started with Red Clocks and we all had a hard time with the book so we switched to Where the Crawdads Sing. I LOVED the book! I wasn’t too sure about it when it first started by I just loved Kya and her determination. It was a great read!
