It's going to be a stressful project for sure - the kids will be home for the summer too, so cross your fingers we all survive!

Just redid our 22 year old 90’s kitchen. We used Shaker style perimeter cabinets painted SW Alabaster. The island is white oak stained a nice not too dark, not too light brown. The grain in the white oak makes a statement! The range hood sits in the middle of the perimeter white cabinets and is white oak stained the same as the island. Counters and backsplash are Emerstone Borghini d’Oro. We’re pleased how it turned out; just so different than what we had! P.S. Walls are BM Pale Oak. All the best–may your marriage survive!

I’m loving your assessment on these trends, thank you for sharing! It’s most helpful considering I’m about to paint my cabinets this spring. It confirmed what I knew, that I’m staying away from gray, and leaning toward white main cabinets and moody blues on my island only.
