Friday 5+1 (5 Things I Love + 1 Thing I Don’t) – 5.20.16

Hello!

Treading water here, which is why I’ve been so quiet this week.  I’m working on not one, not two, but THREE kitchens right now, along with a kitchen island (which might as well be a kitchen).  I’m excited to share all of the details with you – in the meantime, I’m looking into ways to clone myself…  The kids are wrapping up the school year, which is only going to add to the chaos.  Little does my oldest son know, that his summer job may just be working for me.  Could be a long summer for both of us.  This post contains some affiliate links.

Let’s get on to this week’s Friday 5+1!

Zipzicles

I thought these were a great idea if you’re looking to make a healthy popsicle either for yourself or for your kids.  In reading the description, I couldn’t help but notice this description – “Perfect for cocktail inspired pops containing alcohol.” Hello Zipzicle.

Drink Your Effing Water Bottle

I have mentioned in the past that I’ve been trying to drink more water, and it’s an ongoing struggle for me, for some stupid reason.  I’m thinking maybe this water bottle would be a good way for me to stay on top of my water consumption.

See, little reminders and everything.  Since drinking water is so taxing for me.

Tee Ball Player’s On Base Dance Moves

This video just cracks. me. up.  Being the mother of boys who have played baseball for as long as I can remember, this video makes me wish for those days when they were little and learning the game.

Proven Winners

It’s planting time, and if you’re looking for some great ideas, look no further than Proven Winners on Pinterest or the Proven Winners website.  I subscribe to their email list, and occasionally get idea books from them in the mail (which I take with me when I go to nurseries, searching for flowers).  I love their paint by numbers way of describing creative ways to plant gorgeous pots, making them look like I actually know what I’m doing.  But their idea books are online – so you can tap into their creativity before you even leave your house. 🙂

Clean Food Crush

Eating clean is something that I try to do (but am not always successful).  The struggle is real.  But I have found some great ideas for simple (and delicious) recipes at Clean Food Crush.  There is a Facebook page as well, and it’s filled with meal ideas, inspiration and support.  Even better, as we roll into the summer fruit and vegetable season around here!

My +1 for the week – the fact that my kids get out of school so early this year (pre-Memorial Day) and go back even earlier than last year (August 11th).  My main issue with this is because the weather usually still stinks in the midwest in May (we had a FROST warning this week), which means that my kids will most likely be inside, eating, making messes, and ultimately asking when I’m going to the grocery store to buy more food.  I’d rather they were off school for summer break when the weather is more likely to be summery.

Have a great weekend!

Jenny

So happy for you that you are so busy doing what you you really love. Can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on!
I know what you mean about the kids and school. It’s the same here for my kids. They were out the 20th! I completely agree with you and come the second week of August it’s disappointing for them to go back when it’s still very much summer!

I can’t believe your kids are already wrapping up the school year too Jenny! That seems to be the trend all around the country (except over here in the Northeast – my youngest doesn’t get out until the last week of June.) I can’t believe you have 4 kitchens in the works right now – wow! Glad for you that you have had so much work, hope you have a nice break planned for yourself soon!
