Hello!
I hope you all had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. Ours was filled with baseball, yardwork and fun times with friends.
It was our turn to host “Dinner Club” – a get together we do with four other couples every month or two – lots of fun. Nothing gets you motivated like a party, right? While the weather was hot over the weekend, the nights weren’t too oppressive, so we got to get outside and enjoy it.
The added bonus is that the smaller Mason jars double as glasses for summer cocktails.
Here is a great cocktail recipe that I made for this party. It’s cool, refreshing and delicious – perfect for summer!
Summer Beer
- 1 (12 fl. oz.) can of lemonade from concentrate
- 1 bottle of beer (I use Corona Light)
- 12 ounces vodka
- 4 cups ice cubes
Mix the first three ingredients together in a pitcher until blended. Add ice and serve. (You can make this more of a frozen drink if you want, by crushing the ice in a blender and adding the liquid ingredients afterwards.) It’s delicious!
While I’m still working on the potting bench, I did rehang the curtain to hide some of the stuff I was storing on the shelves.
And the progress continues on the outside. More mulch was put down, the adirondack chairs were given a good cleaning, and my pots have been planted.
These pretties have been growing like crazy since I planted them.

May 29, 2012 at 3:15 pmIt's really coming together! Nothing like a great drink outside (I'm partial to porches since there is plenty of shade) and some pretty flowers to look at. So hard to get back to the "real world" after a long weekend, here goes…

We've been hard at work in our yard in the last week as well. It's fun to sit back and admire all of that work! I think I will be giving your summer beer recipe a try!

May 30, 2012 at 5:56 pmGreat job on the pottery! I use a lot of bronze spray paint for projects, but the copper looks great for what you were trying to do. 🙂
Thanks for sharing all of your great ideas!
