I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth – we’ve just been at the beach on vacation. Although when it rains while you’re on vacation, and you’re in a house with six kids – it’s not all fun and games. We had fun, but it’s good to be home! I’m becoming more and more of a homebody the older I get.
Sooo, I’ve been on the hunt for some fun accessories for my basement. I’m really loving the paint color, and I’ve found some great pillows to punch things up even more. I was looking for some lamps, maybe some artwork, or a side table (and an ottoman makeover, but that’s for another day).
Don’t you love it when you shop and find things you need, love, and are also on sale? Yeah, me too.
I knew I was on the right track when I was holding all of this stuff (yes, holding it – didn’t have a cart) and a woman in the store said, “I don’t know what room you’re doing, but all of that (insert sweeping hand motion) is working.” And another woman asked me where I found the print. So, it was definitely a keeper.
I must still be on a vacation in my mind, looking at these purchases. Maybe the print will take me to a happy place when school starts in a couple weeks and things get all crazy around here.
I found Carmel’s post at Our Fifth House, about buying things that you love, quite timely. The lamp and the canvas print were a design trifecta for me – I needed them, I loved them, and they were on sale!
Have you found any design trifectas lately?
