Hello!
When I have the time, I continue to make the trek down to Bargains and Buyouts, but unfortunately, I can’t get down there as often since they’ve consolidated down to one store, and it’s a bit of a hike for me to get down there. However, it is usually worth the trip. My last visit was on a whim, and as a bonus, it was late in the week, before the crowds invade (I presume) over the weekend.
I have been looking for an upholstered king sized bed, but so far have not found the right one. But, I did score a great queen sized one for my oldest son’s room. He’s been using our old queen headboard, and while it’s pretty, it takes up more room than you might expect. And, since space is at a premium, switching the old one out for a new headboard that takes up less space (and is reasonably priced) has been on my Bargains and Buyouts lookout list too.
Now if I could just find something like this in a king size…
To show you how quickly things grow legs and walk out of the store – this is another headboard I had my eyes on while I was there. It was getting ready to be loaded and taken to its new home.
The same with this gorgeous credenza – gone.
It’s a good thing I don’t have a pick up truck. Otherwise I would be toting a lot more home. Like this gorgeous sofa table.
This cute side chair is tempting too. You could find a home for this one just about anywhere in your home.
This chair was selling for a sweet $60, and I’m 99% sure I saw it on a recent Wayfair commercial. But no, I didn’t buy it.
This chair had a great look too, and you know how I love ottomans.
More beds, just not what I’m in the market for, unfortunately. But this one would be adorable in a little girl’s room, don’t you think?
And then I made my way over to the smaller rugs (that were 50% off their already low prices). This one caught my eye:
As did this one:
Both of these found their way into my van and on to my floors (at $17.50 and $25, how is a girl to resist?) The headboard was $179 – they bargained down from the price tag of $199, without me even asking. Bonus!
Since I have painted, I felt the need to change the runners up a bit, and this one looks so great against the Revere Pewter walls. Still need to get the artwork back up though…
And yes, the photos were taken before all of the Christmas stuff came down. And yes, I painted that dresser in my Christmas decorating frenzy. Will share more soon.
This one is in my kitchen for now. I’m not sure if it works with my new wall color (probably would be perfect with my old wall color), but I like having a rug in here.
And this pretty blue rug one made its way home to my friend’s house (once she found out I was here by myself). I became her personal shopper.
In front of the mounds of rugs, there were a couple of snazzy dressers.
This bench would be great in an entryway, at the foot of a bed or even pulled up next to a dining room table.
I will continue to make trips down to this Mecca and share them with you – or perhaps I should start live tweeting or Facebooking them and pick them up for a delivery charge… 😉

January 5, 2015 at 1:19 pmLove your new headboard! I told a Cincinnati friend of mine about that place and now she's obsessed with it – she's picked up Restoration Hardware barstools and Safavieh dining chairs among other things. Why oh why was this not in Cinci when I lived there! 🙂
