Country Living Fair Ideas

This is the third year that I’ve attended the Country Living Fair in Columbus, and it’s always a treat.  So many great vendors, fun ideas and beautiful vignettes to inspire your own home decor.  I thought I’d share some of my favorite Country Living Fair ideas in the hopes that you’ll find something that you can put to use in your own home.  And this is just a slice of all that was there!  This post contains some affiliate links.

Beautiful Vignettes

I found that the booths that seemed to be the busiest were the ones that drew you in with their gorgeous styling.  Boxwoods and baskets are always an eye catcher for me.

How’s this for a statement piece of artwork?  Of course, I got to thinking, I could make that….

I’ve seen tables like this at Ballard Designs and even HomeGoods, but never with this sort of aging treatment to them.  It really kicks up the interest factor.

Great Ideas

In addition to the beautifully styled vignettes, there are always innovative products and examples of how to incorporate them in your own home.  I was this close to picking up some of these painted tree stumps for my own home.  They were so eye catching and cute – for plants, candles, you name it.

Speaking of tree stumps, these wood slices ended up in my shopping bag, and I wish I had bought more of them.  Their styling is what drew me in and closed the sale.  So simple, but such a whimsical touch for a table setting, don’t you think?

At last year’s Country Living Fair, I picked up a dough bowl, and you can bet that I’ve already purchased some dried navy beans to fill it up and create a fun centerpiece like this one.

More navy bean ideas – it’s amazing what you can find at the grocery store to create pretty home decor.

These white jugs with greenery caught my eye – a trio of three would be beautiful on a dining room table or buffet.  Simple, yet striking.

These sorts of displays always get me – you could do so many things with something like this.  Place pine sprigs in the glass jars for the holidays, boxwood, spring or summer flowers – so many options.

A fun way to display your silverware for a buffet.

Whimsical Ideas

There were also plenty of fun and whimsical ideas out there that you just don’t see in other stores.  These cute clipboards made of old game boards were so much fun.  I could see hanging them in a cluster in a kid’s room and clipping their artwork or pictures to them.

I know we’ve all seen wine gift bags, but it’s the words on these that caught my attention.  Sayings like, “This wine pairs well with turkey and difficult relatives” or “The tree isn’t the only thing getting lit this year”.

These unconventional flasks are hilarious.

Do you see anything you like here?  I am already putting some of these ideas to use in my own home as we roll into fall.

    Hi!
Yes, there’s a lot of inspiration there! Thank you for sharing with us. I think what you called tree stumps are actually old, painted architectural columns cut up into chunks.

Lots of great ideas. I never know what to put in my dough bowls or troughs.
