Hello!
I survived our fish fry (which was a great party!), but was feeling like crud for the week prior to the party, and several days afterwards. Go figure. But, it was a blast, even though it rained for some of it, despite the weather forecast showing NO rain. Suffice to say our tent rental paid off! The rain was temporary, and didn’t put a damper the fun, and we’re actually considering making it an annual thing. Should be much easier now that I’ve done it once, right?
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Friday 5+1 (5 Things I Love + 1 Thing I Don’t), so let’s get it rolling!
Cheap Flowers
I had a huge flower haul for the low, low price of $32. We have a local florist (The Flowerman) who works out of what amounts to a storage facility, and sells flowers crazy cheap. I am never disappointed with their flower selection or their prices!
I arranged the flowers in mason jars and vases, and wrapped them with burlap ribbon.
Parties Make Me Move
I feel like I’m in the midst of a post-party depression. While I’m relieved that the party is over and was a success, my go-go-go momentum leading up to the party has left the building. I suspect the go-go-go momentum is what contributed to my getting sick… But, I even managed to get my garage looking fairly organized ahead of this party. Yes, I still have to finish painting the cabinets, but let’s focus on the positive, shall we?
Chalkboard Vinyl for Labeling
Decked out with labels and everything. The great thing about this vinyl, is that I bought a huge roll of it at Hobby Lobby. Way cheaper to buy a roll and cut out your labels, than to buy pre-cut labels. Maybe one of these days I’ll upgrade my little Cricut for a fancier one that cuts labels… It’s very tempting.
Freezer Meals
We’re gearing up for school starting next week, and I actually did some meal planning. We’re talking meals ready to go in the freezer. I even have this dinner cooking away in the crockpot right now, and it smells delicious!

New Gatorade Ads
This is totally random, but I thought these new ads from Gatorade were so clever and so funny. (There are plenty more if you click on the link above)
The one thing I don’t like (and I don’t think anyone likes them) – the DMV. Also known as, The Place That Makes Me Cry. I’m including it here, because it took three visits before we were able to get my son’s temporary license. First time there, waiting 45 minutes, only to be told to go next door to take the temporary license test (which my son subsequently failed). Can you say livid? Second time, the licensing center was closed. Third time = success.
