Hello!
I’m wrapping up the gigantic client kitchen today, and cannot wait to share it with you – new countertops and everything. It’s going to be epic. So stay tuned!
Let’s get to this week’s Friday 5+1! This post contains some affiliate links.
Magnetic Garage Accessories
I spotted these at Menard’s, and had to share, because they’re just so brilliant! Everyone likes a little extra detail on a boring garage door, to make it look a little more custom, and these magnetic garage accessories are an easy way to do it. The only qualifier is that you have a metal garage door.
Kick your garage door up a notch – easy peasy.

Oreck Canister Vacuum
It’s funny, whenever I mention a product or piece of equipment that will help me clean the house, it shows up on my doorstep. Like magic. My husband does actually listen to things I say. 😉 Too bad it doesn’t work for things like jewelry. Or an upholstered bed.
I spotted this cool little gadget at the gigantic client kitchen, actually. The homeowners were having it cleaned before moving in, and this little Oreck Ghostbuster vacuum was just too cool (I tried it out, with their permission). It’s lightweight, and a great way to “sweep” the floor without a broom, or get cobwebs down from high places (not that I know anything about that).
3M Patch Primer 4 in 1 Tool
Spotted this (and bought it) 3M Patch Plus Primer tool at Lowe’s. A great all in one tool for spackling and priming a hole in the wall, with the tools included as part of the product design! At the base of the applicator is a little sander, and then the shape allows it to serve as a putty knife as well. Talk about handy!
Oliver Trailers
Now, I’m not much of camper, but I have a friend who is, and she recently shared these photos of an Oliver Trailer – it’s so cute, I may be enticed to camp.
Very cool, yes?
Drunk History
Have you seen Drunk History on Comedy Central? If memory serves, it started out with videos online (which is how I first found it) and then turned into a TV show, but it’s just plain funny. The basic idea of it is that a historical event is told by a drunk person, and then re-enacted by actors (with his/her drunk voice). Trust me. It’s funny.
Here’s one that talks about Harriet Tubman’s role in history.
My +1 for the week is Stink Bugs. I swear, in all the years that I’ve lived in Ohio, it’s only been the past couple of years that they have made their way here. We have the house sprayed for bugs, but yet, they’re still here. Do you have these in your area? I don’t want to end this post with an ugly bug picture, so google them if you’re not familiar with them (you lucky duck!).
Have a great weekend!

October 2, 2015 at 2:58 pmI hate stink bugs too! We don't normally have them in Ohio ( I have lived in Ohio my whole life), but they are migrating this way from Pennsylvania. And NOTHING kills them (short of squashing or flushing!)

October 2, 2015 at 9:32 pmSTINK BUGS…
Here in western Pa., we have them as well….some years more than others. Researching the internet, they have no predators, nor is there an insecticide to eradicate them. They cling to our stone home looking for warmth and entry into the house. On the net, we found that the only effective way to rid them is to vacuum them, very difficult on our home since it is so high. Hubs bought extensions for the shop vac, lined it with a trash bag and sucked them up. VOILA AND EUREKA!!! It did the trick! So this time of the year, it has become an evening ritual. (Praise GOD) this year they don't seem to be so abundant…..we'll see. Hope this helps.

October 4, 2015 at 5:42 pmI'm in Ohio too (Brunswick) and I HATE the bugs. We have brand new windows and the things still find their way in. Nothing says EECK like ufolding a fresh bath towel and finding a creepy crawler in it!
