Thanks so much for following along with the 12 Days of Holiday Homes tours. I’m always inspired and amazed at the homes these bloggers pull together, and I really appreciate the time they take to do it! I’m also really grateful to have Lynch Creek Farm as a sponsor again this year. Their wreaths and centerpieces always add to the holiday vibe. This year I’m sharing my holiday home tour, but am going to focus on some rooms that really haven’t gotten a lot of face time in the past. Some of the spaces in our home seem to stay relatively constant year over year, so this year, I’m sharing some of the spaces that you haven’t seen much of in the past, or much at all for that matter. If you’d like to see tours of Christmas past, you can check them out here, here and here. I hope you enjoy!
Let’s start with a peek at the outside. I brought the “Joy” sign back out this year – only instead of using it on my fireplace mantel, I put it outside on the front porch.
I thought since my dining room just got a One Room Challenge refresh, it was worth sharing this year on the tour. We’ve added a couple of extra trees to the house this year, and I just couldn’t help it. A tree is just what this dining room needs for the holidays.
And the pup just cannot contain himself. He’s like a camera magnet of some sort.
I played around with some of the decor on the dining room table, and fresh evergreens win every time, don’t they?
I have a few preserved mini boxwood wreaths, and they come in handy to add a little extra pizazz to other holiday items, like this fun silver deer. I added some fun little twinkle lights to an IKEA lantern, and they reflect off of the ornaments that I put in there as well.
Another room I don’t think I’ve shared much at all (at least lately). It is truly my sanctuary, and I love it in here. The deal maker for the room is the headboard. I found it at Frontgate Outlet a couple of years ago, and my heart literally skipped a beat when I spotted it. I had been looking for a headboard for a long time, and this one was it. I love it – it feels like you’re wrapped up in a hug when you go to bed at night.
We’ve never had a tree in our bedroom before, but I really love the soft light that it gives off at night. I’m going to miss it!
I added a couple of small touches to my kitchen (that is finally back together after my Cabinet Painting 2.0 episode.
And then just a peek at the island. I’m really loving the satin nickel hardware on here, and am contemplating changing all of the hardware to satin nickel. But not now. Mama needs a rest.
A peek downstairs to the basement where we have our fourth (gulp) tree. Apparently, I really enjoy making extra work for myself. Nothing too crazy down here – despite the fact that I’ve gone overboard on the trees, I do find that I like to keep them fairly simple.
I opted for pops of red down here – berries, ribbon, garland, etc…
Hope on over to The Pink Clutch and see Paige’s bright and pretty dining room!
Be sure to catch up on all of the tours so far, and to link up at the end of the tour!

Thanks

December 17, 2017 at 12:18 amThe color is called Mineral Deposit by Sherwin Williams. It’s one of the first rooms we painted when we bought this house, and I still love it to this day.

December 13, 2017 at 11:55 amMerry Christmas Jenny!
Your home, as usual, looks absolutely lovely and inviting! I appreciate you re-using & thus reinventing previous decor in new places. It DOES bring a fresh look for free. I’m keeping that in mind as I decorate our home in the middle of playing Amazon Christmas Elf!
I followed along your One Room Challenge and really love your DR makeover!! I think my favorite is your drapes – the color, the floral and the combo of the two.
I remember your post about your Frontgate bed – and from that point forward – THAT EXACT design is what my hearts longs for! At the time, I looked it up on their website, and gulp, I can only imagine that the Outlet price was still an investment (which you said – btw – lol, are you out of the gift-hole yet? 🙂 ). I STILL love that open “shelter” type bed; it’s unique – and out of production on Frontgate’s site. Most shelter beds have a hard 90 degree angle which doesn’t appeal to me or my husband. So I’m hatching a plan and need your help!
Do you remember the name of the bed, and if so, can you give it to me? I don’t. I plan to call them and hopefully speak to someone who can tell me who manufactured it for them, then I can see if I can order it or buy the frame and have an upholster make it for me. I don’t know. We may be heading back to Hickory Furniture Mart in February for their President’s Day sales, and it would be great if the manufacturer was represented down there. We went two years ago & I scored my own deal – a $4K luxe cream leather sofa from the Bernhardt Outlet near The Mart for only $1,329 & NO TAX! WooHoo & PTL!! If you haven’t gone done there, you need to get invited to go! It’s amazing!
Okay, I’m rambling. If you don’t remember, no worries, I’m going to try anyway. Since my email is available to you, please contact me there.
Enjoy having your son home for the Holidays (and of course all of your family)!

December 13, 2017 at 3:51 pmThanks so much Karen. I did a little digging and the closest thing I can find to our bed is this (which looks to be the same exact one as we have). https://rstyle.me/n/cvrhjpcb3sf (affiliate) Suffice to say, I didn’t spend that much money on it, but it was definitely an “investment” piece, that I still love to this day! I think I need to go to Furniture Mart! Even though I don’t NEED any furniture… A girl can look, right? 😉

December 15, 2017 at 10:15 amJenny,
You found one for me? Wow! Thank you! That was incredibly kind of you – and you’re right, I think its the exact one! You know what’s interesting? I Googled “king shelter beds” and looked at the images. This pic didn’t make the list (at least as far as the first page of pics). I just sent it to my hubby – and while I doubt – no, I know – he won’t go for that, it’s nice to know it’s out there. Maybe w/tax $$?? 🙂
Absolutely she can look!! Though from your posts, OH has some incredible outlets and after seeing that bed, I may of looked up “distance Sterling, VA to West Chester, OH”. 🙂
I can tell you – yes, you DO need to head there – and plan to hit High Point, NC, too while you’e in the state. The best times are after the Fall and Spring Showcases. The new items furniture manufacturers unveil are on sale. They also move their samples to the Hickory Furniture Mart. Except for special sales, they’re closed on Sundays. You can find out about their special sales on their websites. They have one end of July too. https://www.hickoryfurniture.com
Since “furniture” is their business, delivery is based on weight and the carriers work beautifully with the various showrooms. It’s like a “well-oiled machine”. If you do ever go, reach out to me and I’m happy to give you a more thorough download. 🙂
On a separate note, though I doubt it will happen, I’ve considered heading to OH to hit the Kraftmaid Warehouse sale. From what I’ve read, you need to be very organized and very specific about sizes. You walk through tagging items w/your name & cell and if you’re the first, it’s yours! Crazy, but the discounts are incredible. Okay, I’m doing it again – rambling, that is!
Thank you again for digging around to find this bed for me! Seriously, what a sweet thing to do!
