Hello!
How are you? I hope you had a great weekend, and are ready to hit the ground running this week. That’s my goal. I have to confess, Me + A Rainy Sunday = Nap. It was glorious. This week is shaping up to be pretty good in the weather department, so I’m hoping that equates to more productivity.
Don’t get me wrong, I have been working on things around here. Just lots of loose ends that aren’t tied up just yet. Here is one thing I’ve started working on though, that I’m sure you’ll appreciate. A $20 garage sale find. Oh the thrill of the find!!
Great curves, yes?
It’s kind of hard to tell from the pictures, but it’s currently a light pink color.
And some great details too. I’m going to get her all gussied up for use in my daughter’s bedroom.
I’m also working on my husband’s office, and have been hoarding fabric swatches in search for inspiration. When I asked him what he wanted, he said, “Surprise me.” I know he would like some gray tones in there, so I’m heeding that direction. Here is what I’ve come up with so far:
I’m so smitten with the orange and gray paisley! I’m on the hunt for the perfect gray for the walls, thus the vast quantity of paint chips (and those are the ones that are part of the “narrowed down” group).
To give you a reminder of my husband’s office space, here it is when we moved in:
I have removed all of the wallpaper (which is actually only on two walls), but the walls are a MESS underneath, so I’m doing a ton of patching. I’m anxious to get to the fun stuff.
As you can see, we have two great window seats in this space, and I’m wanting to get those recovered. Not sure which fabric I’ll use for that yet, although the orange fabric would be great in terms of durability. I’m bound an determined to use that fabric somewhere in this office. I have my eyes peeled for a pair some thrifty chairs that I could incorporate into the space. We’ll see. And I need a rug in there. A mood board for this space is definitely in order!
What do you think? Is the orange fabric too daring? What are you working on?

April 29, 2013 at 5:39 pmI love the color combination. Definitely that pop of orange somewhere….maybe pillows on the window seat? Very masculine palette, and the room has such lovely bones to begin with. Can't wait to see your progress!

April 29, 2013 at 8:30 pmI just used Valspar's Gull in my son's room and to me it's a perfect light gray! It doesn't pull any crazy undertones(despite being painted over yellow) and it is a really nice color!

April 29, 2013 at 9:13 pmDefinatly the orange on the window seats! I am in the middle of a project using that same fabric in purple. I am making a pair of twin beds into studio couches. Based on the location I recognize from photos in a past post I'm guessing you'll be trying out some Annie Sloan chalk paint on that desk?

April 30, 2013 at 2:16 amI picked up the sample at a local fabric store here called The Fabric Shack. I will see if I can find more details on it when I go back in for more. 🙂
