I am trying to finish the board and batten in my basement bar area, which is LONG overdue. Don’t you hate having unfinished projects just hanging over your head? Like where you start to avoid them like an annoying coworker? Even though I totally love board and batten, I do not love caulking, spackling and sanding, which is where this project has stood for, um, two+ months. So, I’m finishing it. Finally.
In the meantime, as part of my avoidance technique, I have been thinking about one of my half bathrooms. Here is a picture I took before we moved in, with my “notes”:
Here it is now, with some more views of the mirror and light fixture. As you can see, other than the addition of artwork, nothing has changed. (Sorry for the color variations – taken at different times of day).
I’m actually entertaining the idea of adding wallpaper (although this plan may change once I go through the wallpaper removal process). There is also the option of carrying the board and batten treatment from the hallway and laundry room into this bathroom, since the rooms are so closely connected.
But take a gander at these lovely powder rooms… via Inspiration for Decoration.
Love the color in this bathroom, as well as the mirror, sconces, vanity… Um, ok – everything!
Look at this dreamy mirror…
Love the chunky mirror in this bathroom. Don’t even get me started on the sink…
Pretty beadboard, sink and sconces. Once again, I’m drawn to the idea of sconces.

March 11, 2011 at 4:04 pmThat last pic with the sconce on top of the mirror is incredible! Board and batten would look amazing in your bath. If you combined that with wallpaper, there would be so little wallpaper to put up, it might not be so hard… (But that's easy for me to say.) 🙂
