With the kitchen cabinets painted, the only unfinished (kitchen) project was to paint the walls and put away all of the additional kitchen crap that is still littering my hallways. The added bonus is that there really isn’t a whole lot of wall space to paint in the kitchen.
But, it’s just enough wall space to make a nice impact. I took the color that I painted the little nook near the pantry (featured here) – Benjamin Moore’s Mountain Laurel. I love this color, and it’s a great contrast to the freshly painted cabinets.
As a refresher, here is the before:
I love this rug in the hallway, but I’m going to have to get a new one to go with the new color palette.
And finally, here is the Evolution of the Kitchen – beginning with a photo of the kitchen before we moved in (one year ago), to where we are today.
Have a wonderful weekend!

November 24, 2011 at 4:39 amThis looks amazing. I am thinking about doing the same thing to my kitchen cabinets. Can you please share how you did this and the products that you used? I am nervous to start this DIY by myself as many people have said that I could really ruin my cabinets but you made it look like I could do it!
Thanks!

December 28, 2011 at 3:19 amThis transformation is GORGEOUS!! You just may have given me the courage I needed to paint my cabinets! It wouldn't be so hard for me to paint my cabinets if they were old, but they still look very nice. It's hard for me to take that risk! But yours were gorgeous before and they are even more gorgeous now! I just posted my kitchen makeover from 2011 and plan to do more to it in 2012. Happy New Year!! 🙂
