Hello!
I hope you’ve had a great week and are gearing up for the Halloween weekend. I’m amazed at how fantastic the weather has still been around here – we’re looking at 70’s next week. In November. That’s just crazy! Let’s kick things off with this week’s Friday 5+1! This post contains some affiliate links.
Farmgirl Flowers
I spotted Farmgirl Flowers on Facebook, but I just love how they’re different from the norm when it comes to floral arrangements. I mean, just look at them!
Stunning, yes? I’d take some flowers from Farmgirl Flowers in a heartbeat. I’m going to have to forward a link to them to my my husband. Our anniversary is next week…
Anti-Gravity Paint Tray
This just looks to good to be true – an anti-gravity paint tray that you can literally turn upside down and the paint stays put. The only downside I can see is that it doesn’t appear to hold very much paint. But I’m still so intrigued! Not that I ever spill paint or anything.
But here is a video of it in action. Seeing is believing!
Angry Mama Microwave Cleaner
I like the Angry Mama Microwave Cleaner because a messy microwave is a chronic problem in our house it seems. The fact that this is indeed an “Angry Mama” makes it even cuter. Cleans your microwave in a snap. I know there are ways to do this on your own to clean your microwave, but I just thought this was fun. A great stocking stuffer.
Pumpkin Succulents
I saw these at my local grocery store and thought they were too adorable for words. Simple and cute – great gift idea for a friend, teacher, hostess gift? They look like an easy DIY too.
The Lion King
I mentioned yesterday that we went to NYC for the kids’ fall break, and as part of that trip, we splurged on tickets to a Broadway Show and saw The Lion King. Oh. My. Goodness. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it blew away any expectations that I could have conjured up in my mind. So good – so creative – so awesome. We all loved it, even my teen boys, who I know were a bit suspect.
My +1 for the week – my old sore hands
I’m spraying a kitchen this week, and my goodness, my hands are taking a beating. Specifically, my right index finger and my thumb. No fun. Planning on a massage. But how do you find someone to hire them to do this?
Have an awesome weekend!

October 28, 2016 at 9:44 amHi Jenny – would love a post on how you prep to spray a kitchen. I noticed the ceiling is not covered (obviously ????) , are you able to spray the uppers without getting paint on the ceiling? Also how long does it take to prep?
Love your blog….

October 30, 2016 at 10:59 pmHey Missy! I did one post on prep as part of my Painter in Your Pocket series (https://evolutionofstyleblog.com/2016/04/painter-pocket-prep-school.html), which talks about prep and some of the things I do to prep a kitchen, but I certainly could do an entire post on kitchen prep. It takes FOREVER to prep – such a tedious part of the process. Especially since the spraying part is so quick by comparison! I need an on call prepper. As for not getting paint on the ceiling when spraying – I use a paint shield like this one – http://amzn.to/2ecXeFT. It’s great when the crown molding goes all the way to the ceiling, so you can just shield the ceiling and spray. 🙂 Thanks for your kind words!

October 28, 2016 at 11:16 amOK, so I LOVE The angry mama. I always just do vinegar water in a coffee cup, but I love this!

October 28, 2016 at 11:23 amI second the old, sore hands. Too much typing, too much painting, too much holding a chef’s knife. Since when am I old? The older I get, the younger my mind feels. I wish my body were experiencing the same!

October 28, 2016 at 11:43 amLOL, that angry momma. Priceless. My youngest saw Lion King on Broadway and raved about it. A young girl from our area is now part of the cast.
