Hello!
I hope you had a rain-free holiday weekend, as a majority of ours felt like it was spent underwater! I don’t recall ever having such a wash out of a 4th of July, which made for more naps than usual around here. But, it’s all good. Instead of a cook out, we had a cook IN. You make due, right?
That said, I did finish another yard sale find (finally!). The jury is still out on it, but I can say it’s definitely an improvement from where it began.
Here’s a sneak peek…
But, before I give the full reveal, let’s go back and see where we started. Ah, yes. There she is, next to her partner, the side table that now resides on our back porch.
My original plan was to paint this bench in two colors, but halfway through, I decided to make it three (because I enjoy making projects more difficult than necessary).
So, the white stripe was the late addition, but I think it makes it much more interesting than just the blue and green.
There was a whole lot of this going on in this process:
And skies that looked like this (but with the rain).
So, I made it work in the garage (and my son’s baseball bag now reflects a hint of green):
It is residing in my office for the time being. Now that the office is going in a blue-green direction, it fits in for the moment. If things change, I can find another place in the house for it (or repaint it to fit in). In the meantime, the pink iron artwork may be getting a makeover in a fun shade of green so that it will tie together with the blue graphic chair.
So, what do you think? Yay or nay? How was your 4th? A wash out or fun in the sun?

July 9, 2013 at 11:34 amIt's awesome! I love the modern vibe and the colors are perfect. Yep, it was a total wash out here too. I'd like to say that I used that time wisely, but many naps were happening here too.

July 10, 2013 at 12:10 pmWhat a cool idea! I always ignore those kinds of country chairs because I don't think they'll fit my look, but this is such a cool way to do it! And I love the stripe so much, I think it totally makes it!

July 22, 2013 at 5:57 amThanks for share this post I also share with you something hope you like my post. The legs should be heavy, made of wood, and jointed to the frame of the sofa or chair, not nailed. Plastic, rubber or metal legs don't look as nice, can tear up your floors, and won't hold up as well. Same goes for nailed-in wood legs. If you're spending more than $1,000 on a sofa, look for one with a fifth leg in the middle. It provides extra support. You won't find them on many cheaper sofas. Thanks
