Hello friends!
As I get rolling with week two the One Room Challenge, I’ll admit, I’m off to a slow start. I blame Easter Sunday and Root Canal Monday. You haven’t heard of Root Canal Monday? It’s where you spend three hours at the dentist in misery while feeling the “zing” of tooth pain a couple of times as the anesthetic wears off. It’s loads of fun.
However, I am moving forward and making some progress. Despite my Instagram offer of free candy to toddlers in the area who would like to peel the remaining wallpaper down in my master bath, I had no takers. So, I finished it off myself, and it’s got me thinking about paint for both the walls and the vanity.
I recently saw a photo of a repainted kitchen, and was immediately smitten with the color of the island, and knew it had to be mine.
The color is “Railings” by Farrow and Ball.

Well, we don’t have Farrow & Ball around here, but my paint guy is a magician with his computer and paint mixer, so he was able to pull up a close match to their formula in my favorite cabinet paint – Benjamin Moore’s Advance. So, at least one decision has been made.
Awhile back, I had purchased paint for the bathroom walls as well. I’m on the fence, but it’s definitely an option. I chose Gray Wisp, by Benjamin Moore. It’s almost an exact match to Restoration Hardware’s Silver Sage.

I think the two colors could work well together, don’t you? If not, it’s just paint, and I’ll find something that works.
So, let’s try to imagine these colors in my bathroom, shall we? Can you see it?
As for new hardware, I’m thinking of going with a polished chrome. Maybe something like this:

Or this:
And maybe knobs like this:

There you have it – some forward movement, and I’ll take whatever I can get when it comes to this space. I’ll get there!

I think you have made tons of progress in your bathroom, considering all that wallpaper removal!!! I loooooove your vanity color!! AAHAH!! LOVE! What about white walls – no? Too boring?

April 11, 2015 at 1:21 amOh how I wish I did not know your pain. I understand! Love that island and would want that color, too. I think those colors would look great together, but I would need to see samples up on the wall. Sorry, that's the limit of my imagination. Great hardware.
