Change a Space with a Painted Door

Hello!

I’ve been so busy painting things for other people, that it was nice to take some time and paint something in my own home for a change.  Nothing huge, but sometimes the little things make all the difference, right?  Like a painted door, for instance.  Our garage door has gone from white, to black and now to a pretty shade of gray.  This post contains some affiliate links.

Let’s go back to where it started.  This is where we installed board and batten (but before we painted the walls – the first time).

I managed to snap a quick photo (just barely) before the board and batten was installed.

Then the walls got an update (Palladian Blue, Benjamin Moore):

Then the door got brought up to speed with the help of some black paint:

Then I painted the walls. Again.  This time in Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter

And just like that, with a little help from my friend Benjamin Moore (Chelsea Gray) the hallway takes on a whole new look.  Sometimes the little changes can really change the whole vibe of a space.  And yes, if you’re paying attention, I stained the built-ins on the left in the same way that I did our front door and our breakfast bar.  General Finishes Java Gel is a miracle worker.

I just painted the inside of my front door on Saturday! In fact, it’s the same style as yours. I went with a light gray (white metal by Behr), which is the same gray that I painted the walls in the foyer, living/dining room, and kitchen. I’m glad to hear that you like the General Finishes java gel because I bought it to refinish a dresser and night stand.
