Hello!
Nothing like kicking off the new year by sharing a kitchen makeover, right? This is the kitchen that I tackled in December, before Christmas. Crazy? Perhaps. But the kitchen looks great! This is another two-toned kitchen, and I’m loving the color combination on this one – Alabaster and a personal favorite, Urbane Bronze (Sherwin Williams).
A peek before the full reveal – with some beautiful hardware from D. Lawless Hardware.
This kitchen had good bones, and the homeowners had already installed new flooring. Would you believe this is vinyl? Plank vinyl. Looks fantastic.
And here it is now (the microwave is going to be reinstalled – I didn’t steal it, I swear).
They’re also having granite installed and a new backsplash (and promised me more photos when that’s complete).
Forgive the blown out photos here – the lighting just wouldn’t cooperate when I was taking my “after” photos.
The island will be getting a new granite top as well.
These homeowners are lucky in that the wife’s father is handy. He helped install new baseboards and trim out the island. Doesn’t it look great?
See how they trimmed out the bottom too? It looks so nice and finished – like a piece of furniture.
And a huge thank you to D. Lawless Hardware for the beautiful bin pulls and knobs. They are the jewelry in this kitchen makeover!
What do you think about two-toned kitchens? I really have fun doing them – they’re a nice change from the typical “all white” kitchens I’ve been doing. Plus, this color combination is a beautiful one!
Have a wonderful day!

January 6, 2016 at 5:53 pmI absolutely LOVE Urbane Bronze. The house we just sold had Revere Pewter (BM) walls, Windfresh White (SW) trim and cabinets, and Urbane Bronze (SW) doors (nice tall 8' doors which really popped with the dark color) and island. It was my all time favorite color combo. I almost DIED when we went back to pick up a delivery that was sent to the old house, and saw that the owner repainted white over ALL of the Urbane Bronze. Such a pity…

February 28, 2019 at 8:49 amWhat finish did you use? I want to paint my bathroom vanity and I’m not sure if I should get the regular(acrylic) semi-gloss or the oil base from Sherwin Williams.

February 28, 2019 at 7:43 pmI always use a satin finish. Just the right amount of sheen.
