Happy Mother’s Day Weekend!
This weekend is a crazy one in our family, as it’s not only Mother’s Day Weekend, but also my husband’s birthday and my dad’s birthday weekend. Lots of celebrating to be had! On that note, let’s get down to this week’s Friday 5+1! This post contains some affiliate links.
Upcoming Client Kitchens
Here is a sneak peek at the kitchen I’m currently working on and will be finishing next week – this one is another fun one with lots of updates being added. The floors have already been refinished, with granite and a new island added as well. My job is to update those oak cabinets!
And I’m starting work on this one as well –
Wise Advice
Take a moment to read this “Advice from Old People” – love it. The older I get, the more I appreciate wise words from people with more life experience than I have.
Nikon Wireless Adapter
Ok Nikon friends, I just discovered this Nikon Wireless Mobile Adapter that allows you to transfer photos from your camera to your phone or tablet via wifi. Way cool!
I’m finding that painting with an apron (with a big pocket in the front) is the way to keep myself from 1) making a total mess of myself and 2) not losing things that I’m using while painting. Of course, my apron doesn’t look nearly as pristine as this one, proving what a messy painter I can be.
I’m finally back on the audiobook train, and recently finished “When Breath Becomes Air” – a great read and insight from a young neurosurgeon who is diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer, and how he goes from treating the dying to becoming a patient himself. A great perspective on life with a unique insight from someone facing his own mortality. If you want to give Audible a whirl, you can test it out with a free trial membership (which includes TWO FREE audiobooks!). Which means you could listen to The Nightingale too, which is currently my all time favorite book, ever.
My +1 for the week – the fact that my dogs go crazy insane when anyone (man, woman or animal) approaches our house. Our older dog rarely went crazy (although a bunny could send him over the edge), but now that the puppy has been added to the mix, they both go cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs whenever someone dare sets foot near our home. You would think we were under attack or something. Apparently the puppy is the leader and our older pup is a follower. Go figure. It’s a good thing they’re cute.
Have a beautiful weekend!

May 6, 2016 at 6:18 pmI am so living your plus 1! We have a labrador who is 85 pounds and got a Morkie (maltese/yorkie) who is 4.5 pounds and he makes the lab LOSE HIS MIND multiple times every single day. They have taken years off my life!

May 6, 2016 at 6:38 pmWhy are these older retrievers such followers? I miss my mellow old guy – silly me to think that the older one would be the influencer!
