Hello!
I know that this is Thanksgiving week, but with the 12 Days of Christmas Tour of Homes kicking off next Monday, I have to admit, I have Christmas on the brain. Normally I wait until after Thanksgiving, but this year I’m getting things rolling early.
I shared this amazing Reclamation and Restoration warehouse last week, but today I’m going to share what I created with one of my treasures.
I picked up this old door for just $15, and had big plans for it, with an idea that had been brewing in my head for awhile (and yes, that’s a new paint color on my walls – more on that soon).
Remember how I mentioned these metal letters in my 5+1 round up a couple of weeks ago?
Well, metal letters + old door = JOY.
I had to cut the door down a little bit in order for it to fit, but I love that this is a high impact, low budget holiday piece. The whole thing cost me about $45 if you don’t count the wreath (since I had it already). I scored the metal letters at Hobby Lobby for half price, so they were only $15 each. Gotta love that.
I’m still not done with the mantel, but this piece definitely helps fill the vertical space which is so tricky decorate (for me anyway). I’ve been on the fence about whether or not to use this piece on the mantel or another place in my home (or on the front porch), but it is HEAVY, so I certainly won’t be moving it by myself.
I know I’m not the first person to put one of these together, but I still love it. 🙂

November 20, 2015 at 9:35 pmHi! I saw this on pinterest and I'm making it for my two story mantle, I was curious if you could tell me what you used to get the letter and wreath to stay on? I can't decide what to try!
