Hello!
I wrapped up a second kitchen last week, so I will be sharing some kitchen makeovers very soon. On that note, I’m going to jump right in to this week’s Friday 5+1 – now a Monday 5+1 since I’ve been having issues uploading images in WordPress – my apologies – quite frustrating on this end, trust me! This post contains some affiliate links.
I’m quite excited about the kitchens I’m finishing – including this pretty white kitchen with chrome pulls from D. Lawless Hardware. Love me some chrome, and I want these in my house! And yes, these chrome pulls serve as a mirror – so you can see me in my normal state – baseball hat and workout wear.
Beautiful Built-Ins
I’m working on some gorgeous built-ins for a remodel, and while this is something different than what I normally do which gives me anxiety, I can’t wait to see them when I finish. One set is going to be done in Sherwin Williams’ Extra White, and the other is going to be done in one of my favorite colors – Urbane Bronze.
These will be done in Extra White:

I just purchased this flexible whip hose that goes with my HVLP sprayer. I know it sounds like nothing major, but makes working with my gun a lot easier. I love my sprayer, but the hose can get unwieldy at times (especially when you’re spraying a lot), and the flex hose just makes the gun lighter and easier to maneuver around with, which is huge. It’s a short hose (5-6 feet) and attaches to my longer hose that came with the sprayer. It’s the little things, you know?
I am on my third pair of these Keen flip flops, and I guarantee you that by the end of summer, I will have a flip flop tan line on my feet from wearing them all. the. time. That’s how much I love them. They’re not your normal flimsy flip flop – they’re much more sturdy and supportive, and I can’t say enough good things about them. Look closely – see how the big toe is covered? Talk about smart design. Plus, I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on them over the years (yes, years) that I’ve worn them. What can I say? I’m a creature of habit, big time. Just ask my husband.
Speak of the devil, I just found a pair of men’s Keen flip flops and he wants them. Go figure. I was disappointed to see that these were men’s and not women’s!
I know that shows about flipping houses seem to be a dime a dozen nowadays, but have you seen Masters of Flip? It’s a husband and wife team in Nashville whose flips are as fresh and fun as they are.
They take spaces like this:

Fun, yes?
My +1 for the week – girl’s clothes. I started by thinking of the clothes that were out there for girls who are my daughter’s age (10). I just don’t get it – everything is bedazzled, fringed, glittered, or covered in slogans, like “Don’t Be Jealous”. Seriously? Don’t even get me started on some of prom dress trends…
I would upload photos to share with you – but the WordPress update isn’t letting me. Maybe that should be my +1…
Hope your week is a great one!

April 19, 2016 at 9:30 amI feel you on girls clothing. Wait until your daughter transitions into the juniors department. FInding appropriate clothing is even more of a challenge. My kids attend a parochial school with a very strict dress code and shopping for them makes me want to pull my hair out.

April 19, 2016 at 10:12 pmI haven’t seen that Flip show yet but I think I need to check it out. Nice designs! As far as flip-flops go, I think I will look into those. I can’t wear ones that are completely flat and those look like they would work for me. I used to wear the Croc flip flops but I have had at least 3 pairs that fell apart. The piece between the toes came out on every one of them! It’s not like I am rough on them or anything! Weird. And as far as girls clothes go…I am so glad I have boys! My neighbors have to deal with all those crazy clothing choices and they are not enjoying it. I don’t remember dressing like that when I was that age…now I really sound old! Enjoy your week!
