Friday 5+1 (5 Things I Love + 1 Thing I Don’t) 7.15.16

Hello friends!

I hope you’ve had a good week and are ready for the weekend.  We’re wrapping up the summer baseball season, so things will slow down a little bit at least (before they speed back up when school starts again in August).  I’m not ready for school yet!  Let’s get this week’s Friday 5+1 started!  This post contains some affiliate links.

Lazy Susan Containers

I spotted these at a client’s home when I was taking down her kitchen cabinets.  It seems like lazy susans have the tendency to turn into an unorganized mess, and these lazy susan organizers help corral the clutter!

Anti-Gravity Phone Case

I have to give my son credit for informing me about this gadget – an anti-gravity phone case.  I don’t have one, but they sure sound interesting.  It sticks to things, without being sticky.  So you could stick it to the wall to follow video instructions, or even to record  a video, if you were so inclined.  Interesting idea, yes?

Lysine

This is totally random, but one that is also worth sharing.  If you ever feeling like you have a cold sore or canker sore brewing, Lysine is your trick to nipping it in the bud.  Take 3-4 of these (I have 500 mg) when you feel it coming on, and it stops it in its tracks.  I can vouch for it myself.  It’s magic like that.

Charger Outlets

I saw these at another client’s house, and I think they should come standard in new homes that are built today.  I think having charger outlets like this in my home would be particularly handy when your own charger seems to grow legs and walk away…  I’m going to have to look into what’s involved in converting a regular outlet into one of these.  Can’t be all that difficult, right? 😉

Reacher Multi-Tool Extension Arm

I spotted this in my local Sherwin Williams store, and probably should have bought it since I have a high spot in my family room area that is still not painted because I can’t reach it without risking life and limb.  This little Reacher tool could be the problem solver I’m looking for.

My +1 for the week – cereal boxes.  I know it sounds silly, but what sort of shenanigans are the cereal people trying to pull here?  Is it just me, or are cereal boxes getting smaller and smaller?  (Or other products for that matter) Yet, they try to trick me by making the cereal box tall, but very skinny. I’m on to you, cereal people.

Have a beautiful weekend!

I never knew L-Lysine was also for humans. I give it daily to my cats to boost their immune system. Vet highly recommends it. I learned something new today, thanks!

The charger outlets are around 25$ at lowes or menards or homedepot. They are really simple to change out. It probably takes 15 minutes and they are so so so handy!

We have a few of those outlets in our house already. They’re super easy to switch one out to replace an existing outlet. If I recall it was a bit tough to get it in place because there’s a little more to pack in there than a traditional outlet but my hubby was able to do it in five minutes. We have them in key areas like the kitchen backsplash and next to our desk in the office. They are a bit pricy however. I think it was about $40 at Home Depot or Lowe’s but that was almost a year ago. I expect more brands to be popping up on the market and the prices to start leveling out soon….I hope!
