Friday 5+1 (5 Things I Love + 1 Thing I Don’t) – 9.22.23

I feel like we are snowballing towards the holidays, and really am not ready for that just yet.  The weather has settled into a beautiful pattern, and I’m in no hurry for it to change just yet.  Fall in the midwest is one of the best things about living here. Winter, not so much, but fall is a winner.  We had homecoming last week – my daughter is a senior, so this is my last homecoming – and her senior pictures are next week.  Again, I’m in no hurry for things to move any faster than they already are.  Let’s get on with a Friday 5+1 and stop with all of this leaving the nest stuff, shall we?  This post contains some affiliate links.

Peel and Stick Towel Holders

After installing towel holders and toilet paper holders, I’m left wondering where these peel and stick ones have been my whole life.  So modern and cool, with none of the hassle of normal installations.  Smart for home, college kids, first apartments, you name it!

Vuori Joggers

I am a subscriber to the Trendsend clothing box (love it, and I’ve gotten lots of great things that I would never have tried, or even found, myself).  In a recent box, I received the Vuori jogger.  I was a little hesitant, because I just didn’t see myself in them.  But I tried them on, and fell in love.  They’re super comfortable, lightweight, moisture wicking and perfect for wearing around town or lounging around at home.  I liked them so much that I bought a second pair in another color.  I have the black and the olive green.  They’re also perfect for traveling.  I had a girl’s trip recently and wore them while flying.  Perfect!

I don’t opt for the crop top – I like the Athleta Breezy Tank, which I have in four colors, but you get the idea. 😉

Lounging Tank

Another item I found ahead of my girl’s trip was this great lounging tank with a built in bra.  Comfy, cute and ideal for lounging.  Apparently this is supposed to be a Lululemon knock-off, and considering how spendy Lulu is, this is a deal.  I

In keeping with trends, I bought a black and an olive green one.  Here I am on my girl’s trip with the black one.

Milk Makeup Kush Mascara

I don’t know what’s happening, but it seems like my eyelashes are slowly shrinking with each passing year.  I have tried all sorts of mascaras and none seem to do the trick.  I bought a sample of Milk Makeup Kush Mascara when I was at Sephora, and it is the only one that I have found to date, that gives the illusion of eyelashes without looking clumpy and obvious.  I love it.  Two thumbs up!

Volunteering with Service Dogs in Training

My daughter and I have been volunteering with a local organization called 4 Paws for Ability – a non-profit that breeds, trains and places service dogs.  We have been trained as “Field Friends” – taking some of the more trained dogs out to play, and recently got trained in the puppy house to work with the smaller puppies on specific tasks in learning socialization.  I don’t know who benefits more, us or the dogs.  If you’re ever stressed, grumpy, sad, etc… I promise you won’t be by the time you’re done.

My +1 for the week… Tags

Tags.  Not hashtags, but physical tags.  On clothing.  I recently got some new tanks and the tag situation was a bit over the top.  There was literally a tiny book sewed into my my shirt.  Removing the tags required minor surgery.  Why?

Mini rant over.  Obviously I’m easily annoyed these days.  Ha!

Have a fantastic fall weekend my friends.

If you missed the last 5+1, check it out here.
