Hello!
Happy April to all of you! I’m happy to be putting March behind us and am looking forward to the month ahead!
First things first – I am thrilled to share with you that my cabinet painting tutorial was featured here on BobVila.com. Yes, the Bob Vila (and no, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke!). I was even given this cool badge – so yes, I’m really excited about it!
A quick recap of the activity around here for the month of March:
I got my master closet peg board installed (and am putting stuff AWAY as a result):
I painted my daughter’s room in this fresh, spring-like green (and still owe you a full reveal). It’s a work in progress!
I shared my new ottoman that was a total steal from the Grandin Road Outlet. Still loving it…
I shared my exciting news about leaving the corporate rat race and staying home to pursue my passions.
I’m almost finished painting my friend’s builder grade cabinets, and shared with you the progress, and some tips on minimizing the grain on oak cabinets. They are looking FANTASTIC!
She also had a carpenter come in to build up the cabinets to the ceiling and trim them out with crown molding. I can’t wait to see this finished space!
I also finally gave in to visiting Target and seeing their Threshold brand first hand. So beautiful.

April 1, 2013 at 4:02 pmyour work on your friend's kitchen looks great. i have soffits which i want to remove, but do you think building back up what you're doing is worth it for me to do? isn't it essentially the same thing, but with extra trim pieces? maybe that's what mine needs…hmmm…oh well. thanks for hosting, and yay on following your passion!

April 4, 2013 at 9:12 pmCongrats on Bob Villa, your ottoman is gorgeous, and I'm heading over to read those painting tips. But, I really want to know about your rug under your ottoman! Do you have a post about that? Beautiful!
